What to Recite in Salah
Disclaimer: Supplications mentioned in this post are taken from 'Fortress of the Muslim' and only include the most common ones memorized and recited. May Allah guide us and allow us to follow the Sunnah.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Supplication at the start of Prayer (after takbeer)
Subhaanaka Allaahumma wabi hamdika,
wa tab aarakasmuka,
wataAA ala jadduka,
wa laa 'ilaaha ghayruk.
Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and Exalted is Your Majesty, and none has the right to be worshiped but You
While bowing in your prayer (ruku)
Subhaana Rabbiyal-'Adheem (three times)
Glorious is my Lord the Magnificent
Upon rising from the bowing position
SamiAAal-laahu liman hamidah.
Allah listens to those who praise Him.
Rabbanaa wa lakal-hamd,
hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubaarakanfeeh.
Supplication whilst prostrating (sujood)
Subhaana Rabbiyal-aAA'laa. (three times)
Glorious is my Lord the Most High
Supplication between the two prostrations
Rabbigh-fir lee, Rabbigh-fir lee.
My Lord forgive me, My Lord forgive me
The Tashahhud
Attahiyyaatu lillaahi wassalawaatu,
wattayyibaat, assalaamu AAalayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu warahmatul-lahi wabarak atuh, assalaamu AAalayn a waAAalaa AAibaadil-laahis-saaliheen.
'Ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wa 'ash-hadu 'anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasooluhu.
All greetings of humility are for Allah, and all prayers and goodness. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
Prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ after the tashahhud
Allaahumma salli 'alaa Muhammadin wa 'alaa 'aali Muhammadin,
kamaa sallayta 'alaa 'Ibraaheema wa 'alaa 'aali 'Ibraaheema,
'innaka Hameedun Majeed.
Allaahumma baarik 'alaa Muhammadin wa 'alaa 'aali Muhammadin,
kamaa baarakta 'alaa 'Ibraaheema wa 'alaa 'aali 'Ibraaheema,
'innaka Hameedun Majeed.
O Allah, bestow Your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.
